Here’s some good news: Shondaland seems to rule over ABC. ABC early renewed Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal and How to Get Away with Murder for another season, and the Shonda Rhimes productions will go on!
This renewal means that Scandal will return with season 7. How to Get Away with Murder will move on to season 4. ABC’s veteran Grey’s Anatomy will hit season 14, which is absolutely impressive.
ABC Entertainment President Channing Dungey shared:
“Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, and How to Get Away With Murder continue to keep viewers on the edge of their seats and wanting more. “I’m thrilled to bring back these shows and the OMG moments that come with them.”
At the moment, Scandal was pushed back for a while to allow Kerry Washington to have her baby. But the show is very important for ABC, and they are more than willing to renew it:
“Scandal is a big hit show for us and nobody likes to go into their first fall season as president of entertainment without one of the biggest guns in their arsenal. But, obviously we were thrilled for Kerry and her family and that’s all good news.”
Shonda Rhimes has two more shows coming on ABC. You can read this story about the upcoming shows here. With all her shows, soon ABC’s new name will be Shondaland. Just wait.
There are no news regarding the show’s episode count. We don’t know either whether it will come back mid-season or for a full season.
Regardless of that, we all know the important of renewals. There are no other news regarding other ABC shows. But we’re still hopeful. Congratulations for each show to reach that far, especially Grey’s Anatomy.
